Gombe Stream is a narrow strip of forested valleys on the shore of Lake Tanganyika, and the site of Jane Goodall's groundbreaking chimpanzee studies that began in 1960. Its habituated chimpanzee community makes for intimate primate encounters.
Beyond chimps, Gombe hosts olive baboons, red colobus and red-tailed monkeys, with beautiful forest walks and lakeside swimming. It is reached by boat from Kigoma.
