The Northern Circuit is Kilimanjaro's best-kept secret. Starting from the Lemosho approach on the western face, this route circles the entire northern face of the mountain before joining the summit push from the Kibo side — covering terrain no other route touches and taking 9 days to do it properly.

The north face of Kilimanjaro is dramatically different from the well-worn southern paths: remote, raw, and almost entirely free of other trekkers. The long gentle ascent profile gives your body the best acclimatisation window of any Kilimanjaro route — summit success rates consistently exceed 95% on 9-day Northern Circuit itineraries with experienced operators.

If you've already done Kilimanjaro on a shorter route and want the definitive experience, or if this is your first Kilimanjaro and you want to maximise every advantage, this is the itinerary.
