The southern circuit is Tanzania at its wildest and least crowded. Six days combine boat and walking safaris along the Rufiji in Nyerere (Selous) with Ruaha's baobab country and huge lion prides, linked by short bush flights.

North vs south

The northern circuit has the iconic Serengeti and the migration, but the south, Nyerere and Ruaha, offers boat safaris, walking safaris and a fraction of the vehicles. It is the better choice for a second Tanzania safari or anyone craving wilderness solitude.
